May 3, 2007 -- Hollywood, CA Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG) is proud to announce its participation this past weekend in William Shatner’s 17th Annual Hollywood Charity Horse Show, held at the Hollywood Equestrian Center in Burbank, CA. BSEG, in association with Robert Reyes, was able to raise close to $20,000 for Shatner’s charity.
“We were inspired by Mr. Shatner’s tireless commitment to these causes, and by the fact that every dollar raised goes to these worthy charities,” BSEG President David Zappone stated. The money goes to Ahead With Horses, a therapeutic riding group for handicapped children, and Camp Max Strauss, a residential summer camp located in Glendale, CA that provides recreational activities for underprivileged children between the ages of seven and twelve who primarily come from single (or substitute) parent homes.
Also in attendance with Zappone, BSEG CEO Kimberley Kates, Senior VP Michael Manasseri and President of Production Stephen Eckelberry (with wife Karen Black), were stars from two of the company’s upcoming films; Ron Perlman, of “Standing Down,” and Sarah Thompson, star of the new horror/thriller, “Babysitter Wanted.”
“Standing Down,” a compelling story of racial tension, is set to go into production later this year after Perlman finishes “Hellboy2”, with Pras Michel of the Fugees set to star as well.
“Babysitter Wanted” is in the final stages of post production, and will be making its debut at the Cannes Film Market later this month. In addition to Thompson, the film also stars Matt Dallas ( ABC’s “Kyle:XY”), Kristen Dalton (“The Departed”), Bill Moseley (“Devil’s Rejects” “House of a Thousand Corpses”) and Nana Visitor (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”).
