Big Screen's ''Babysitter Wanted'' Wins at Major Film Festival
Tuesday, 06 May 2008
Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG) is proud to announce that its film, “Babysitter Wanted,” has won the Audience Award at Germany’s respected “Weekend of Fear” International Festival of Horror. The festival, started 17 years ago and held in Nuremberg, has become one of the premier destinations for independent genre films.
“Babysitter Wanted,” starring Matt Dallas (“Kyle XY”), Sarah Thompson (“Seventh Heaven”), Bill Moseley (“The Devil’s Rejects,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”), Bruce Thomas (Legally Blonde”), Kristen Dalton (“The Departed”) and Nana Visitor (“Deep Space Nine”), who was recently cast as the mother in the new “Friday the 13th,” has been receiving terrific pre-release reviews.
The German audience’s response was extremely positive, with one reviewer stating that “Babysitter Wanted” is a cross between the horror classic, “The Omen” and Eli Roth’s “Hostel.”
Internationally, Lions Gate will be distributing the film in the UK.
“Babysitter Wanted” is making its 35mm, theatrical debut at the Cannes Film Market on May 18th at the Olympia Theater.
Big Screen’s newly formed distribution venture, “The Independent Film Company” (TIFC), will be selling all other international territories for “Babysitter Wanted,” beginning with this year’s Cannes market. TIFC has acquired more than thirty titles for its distribution pipeline.
